Kaedin Edward Milhouse how can it be a year ago today you came into our lives? You my little man have taught us so much. How to love selflessly, unconditionally, and more than we could have ever dreamed! You have changed our world. You have changed us! How can it be a year ago since the only place you would sleep was on daddy’s chest on the couch? A year ago since mommy had the great privilege of getting to bond with you every 3 hrs on the dot? A year since you peed or pooped through about 4 outfits a day? How can a year go so fast? People told us how fast time goes, but mister we were not prepared for this? We want to bottle you up and keep you at this age, we are not ready to let you grow.
As we look back at this last year, you have changed so much. You went from this little newborn who only ate, slept, peed and pooped, who didn’t sleep through the night, to a little man who ate, slept, peed pooped, and was awake more, who still didn’t sleep though the night, to a little man who ate, peed pooped, and was awake even more, who started playing and sleeping in his own bed for about 6 hr stints. To a little man who started eating baby food, playing and have a little attitude to people who were not mom or dad. To the little man we know today who has the most amazing personality already. You are so personable, so loving, you just have this sweet way about you!!! But you are quit the fit thrower when you don’t get your way. You have started to hit yourself with your hand when you are mad, and scream at the person who made you mad. But don’t worry we will work that out of you.
Kaedin Edward we love you with all that we are, you have our hearts and are so thankful that the Lord would in-trust us with you. Our prayer for you is that you would always hold God so deep inside of your heart, and follow after him. We love you mister with ever fiber in us, and are so proud of you, and this little mister you are becoming. We are excited to watch you grow and learn in this next year!!!!
You have our hearts baby boy!!!!!!
We love you, Mommy and Daddy
1 Year ago today
Oh Sweet boy, a year ago tonight daddy and I began our journey to Kaiser Riverside, to start what turned out to be a very long and scary day in a half. We got to the hospital at 10:00pm got all checked into our room meet our amazing nurse Kristine, and we began the inducing process. A doctor came in and gave me something called citadel, then they wanted me to walk. Well you decided it was your sleep time so the nurse had to come in a wake you up so they could start monitoring you before I started walking. Boy did she wake you, and im pretty sure you didn’t stop moving until you were born. They let me get up and start walking and daddy and I walked for almost an hour, on a very deserted OB floor. I started to get some pretty good contractions, but still wasn’t sure and I was so tired, it was about 2:00 in the morning by then, so daddy and I went back into the room. Within about 30 minutes my water broke, and we began labor. Once my water broke the contractions really started, and I got my epidural about 2 hrs after my water broke. Grandma, Papa, Grammy and Grandpa arrived at the hospital around 4:30 in the morning. And then we all just waited. Grandma and Grammy and daddy were all in the room with me the whole time. They switched off so other people could come in and say hi, but daddy never left my side. He was amazing!!!!! Well It took a while for me to dilate to 10, but once I got there I knew I was ready, and we began pushing. Pushing was hard, your heart rate kept dropping and they had to put me on oxygen, so you would get more. Well in the end I pushed for 3 hrs, and I was so tired and my epidural had warn off around the 1 ½ mark, so I delivered pretty drug free. Our nurse who was Kelly at this time was getting pretty worried cause I had been pushing for so long, I couldn’t even open my eyes anymore, I just was done. Well God new what else I needed and gave it to me and pretty soon here you came. They grabbed a dr out of the hallway cause the midwife who was suppose to deliver you was helping someone else, and God new we needed that Dr and his knowledge. His name was Dr. Dresbach he was amazing. Well your head had came out, then your shoulders got stock and I remember the dr saying you really have to push, and the next thing I new two nurses were pushing your daddy and grandma out of the way and were getting on top of me to get you out, because when my water broke you had whats called mec and if you were to suck it in it could have really hurt you, so the dr was scared and didn’t want you to breath. So finally your shoulders popped out and the rest of you came quick. Come to find out you had +3 mec which +4 is the worst. You had a nicu nurse, pediatrician, and respitory therapist all waiting for you. The dr had to cut the umbilical cord and the team took you right away to make sure they got you all suctioned out before you would breath. You didn’t cry for what felt like forever, then finally you did and I could breath. Once the placenta came out we knew why I pushed for 3 hrs. Baby boy you truly are a miracle from God. He had his mighty hand on you more then we could have ever imagined. You ended up having the umbilical cord wrapped around your neck, +3 mec, two true knots in the umbilical cord, and you were face up. And you were a whopping 8 lbs 13 ounces, 20.5 inches. Man for my first baby you were rough. But 100% worth every it!!!!!!!!. Everyone waiting in the waiting room got to come in a meet you. Uncle Jorden, Auntie Amanda, Nama, Grandma and Grandpa Sharick, Uncle Tim, Auntie Mel, Marley, Aunt Shelly, Randee, Jessy, Mark, Sandie, Allison, Ivett, and of course Grandma, Papa, Grammy and Grandpa were the faithful people who waited for your arrival, the first people you meet. Our sweet Cheryl came later that night to see you!!!! Daddy took care of you all night while we were in the hospital. I was so out of it I couldn’t do anything. But I have to say you were pretty amazing that night as long as daddy was holding you. Then the next morning the nurses took you for a bit to take care of some stuff, and Grammy and Grandma came back to the hospital to help us get ready to leave. We left around 3:00 that day, and came home.
